Charlie Puth and Selena Gomez Break Up 2016: “Messed”
Charlie Puth and Selena Gomez have admitted that they are dating, and that their relationship ended because she was still in love with Justin Bieber.
Puth described his romance with Gomez as “very short-lived, very small, but very impactful” in an interview with Billboard.
“It really messed me up,” he added.
“It wasn’t like I was the only person on her mind,” Puth explained, without mentioning Justin Bieber’s by name. And I think I knew what I was getting myself into going in.”

Gomez contributed vocals to Charlie Puth’s song “We Don’t Talk Anymore” in late 2015, and it was released as a single off his debut album Nine Track Mind in 2016.
“It’s about a specific time in my life when someone very close to me wanted the attention of someone else,” he explained. “When I found that out and we ended it, I might have done some shady things too, and she might have asked me, ‘How long has this been going on? ’
“I don’t kiss and tell, but the only way a song like that can come across as genuine is if there’s something else going on behind the scenes.”

Gomez later dated Canadian singer The Weeknd before rekindling her relationship with Bieber.
According to the Billboard interview, Puth is currently working with Canadian fitness coach Harley Pasternak to get in shape for his summer tour, which begins July 11 in Toronto.
The tour is in support of his sophomore album Voicenotes, which was supposed to be released last month but has now been pushed back to May 11.
Puth expressed excitement for fans to hear the new collection, which will include hits “Attention” and “How Long,” as well as a collaboration with Boyz II Men on “If You Leave Me Now.”
