Solána Imani Rowe was born on November 8, 1989, in St. Louis, Missouri. She grew up in Maplewood, New Jersey, in a Muslim household, and she is the daughter of a Christian mother (an AT&T executive) and a Muslim father (an executive producer at CNN).
