Camila Cabello is a wealthy American singer with an estimated net worth of $18 million. Camila rose to prominence as a member of the girl group Fifth Harmony. She went on to have a very successful solo career.

Early Years

Camila Cabello was born in March 1997 in Cojimar, Cuba. Camila and her family moved back and forth between Mexico City (where her father, Alejandro Cabello, was born) and Havana, Cuba as children (where her mother, Sinuhe Estrabao, was from). Camila, her mother, and Sofia moved to Miami when Camila was five years old.

Her father could not obtain a visa at the time, but he eventually joined the family about a year and a half later. Cabello received US citizenship in 2008. She went to Miami Palmetto High School but dropped out in ninth grade to pursue a singing career, eventually earning a high school diploma.

Fifth Harmony

Cabello rose to prominence as a member of the girl group Fifth Harmony. In 2012, Cabello auditioned as a solo act for the reality show The X Factor. She performed Aretha Franklin’s “Respect” (though her episode was never broadcast due to licensing issues). After being eliminated, she was brought back with four other female contestants to form Fifth Harmony. They finished third on the show and signed a deal with Simon Cowell’s Syco Music and Epic Records.

Fifth Harmony’s debut studio album, Reflection, was released in 2015. The album peaked at number five in the United States, number eight in Canada and New Zealand, and number nine in Spain. Their single “Worth It” (featuring Kid Ink) was certified Platinum and peaked at #12 in the United States and #3 in the United Kingdom.

Their single “Work From Home,” featuring Ty Dolla Sign, from their second album, 7/27, became their highest-charting single in the United States, selling 1.4 million digital copies by December 2016. At the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards, the group was named MTV’s Artist to Watch. Cabello toured extensively with Fifth Harmony from 2013 to 2016, enjoying commercial success.
