Selena Gomez Instagram has now more than 382 million followers.
According to Vogue, Selena Gomez Instagram followers has surpassed Kylie Jenner on as the most-followed woman on the platform. As of Friday, Selena Gomez Instagram has more than 382 million followers, while Jenner has over 380 million.
Selena Gomez Instagram Ranked 4th Overall
According to social media tracking website Social Blade, Gomez ranks fourth overall, trailing soccer superstars Cristiano Ronaldo and Leo Messi as well as Instagram’s own account.
One dislikes pitting powerful women against each other, but there’s something legendary about Gomez leaving Instagram and letting Jenner win in her absence, only to return, regain all of those crucial followers, and…disappear. It’s Jesus being crucified and then resurrected three days later that gives us the holiday we now call Easter! (Sorry, is that a sin?)
Gomez has previously spoken openly about the toll that social media has taken on her, telling Vanity Fair in February, “People can call me ugly or stupid, and I’m like, Whatever. “However, these people are very detailed,” she told the publication. “They write such specific and mean paragraphs. I’d be crying all the time. I was constantly anxious. I couldn’t take it any longer. It was a complete waste of my time.”
Even as a non-celebrity, I understand the feeling of Instagram robbing you of your peace. (When I spend too much time on Instagram, I swear I can feel my serotonin leaking out of my ears.) And, while a large part of my job is based on the concept of famous people oversharing on social media, I still hope Gomez has a restful and productive time away—as long as she knows that when she’s ready to return, she be the reigning queen of Instagram once again.
