The Weeknd and Selena Gomez Love Story In 10 Months

Before coming to a “remarkable” end in October 2017, Selena Gomez and The Weeknd’s romance took them to Florence, Toronto, Buenos Aires, among other places.

The Weeknd and Selena Gomez(real name Abel Tesfaye) dated for 10 months. They started dating two months after The Weeknd ended his relationship with Bella Hadid and shortly after Gomez ended her relationship with Justin Bieber. After The Weeknd and Selena Gomez broke up, they each went on to rekindle their respective relationships with Hadid and Bieber, though those connections have also since dissolved.

The Weeknd and Selena Gomez had a global relationship while they were dating, touring the world together for the R&B singer’s Starboy: Legend of the Fall tour.

The Weeknd reportedly planned his tour dates around the surgery to be there for Gomez as she recovered. Gomez later disclosed that she had a kidney transplant in the summer of 2017 as a result of her battle with lupus.

According to reports, the musicians first connected while appearing together at the 2015 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. They were photographed together for the first time on this particular occasion. The Weeknd and Hadid were dating at the time, while Gomez had just reconciled with Bieber.

After their respective breakups from their partners a little over a year later, Gomez and The Weeknd were unable to keep their opinions to themselves. Over a candlelit dinner at Los Angeles’ Giorgio Baldi restaurant, the singers spotted kissing.

At the time, a source told PEOPLE, “It’s new and nothing serious.”

The Weeknd and Selena Gomez rented out Dave & Buster’s on January 27, 2017.

The two rented out a Dave & Buster’s in Los Angeles, where their date nights varied from sensual to silly. Later that month, I went to the arcade with my friends Jaden Smith and French Montana.

They left around three in the morning holding hands, according to a source who spoke to PEOPLE. “They looked very happy. They had a blast with their friends,” the source said.

Selena Gomez and The Weeknd flew to Italy on January 29, 2017.

A few weeks after their first date, the couple took a flight to Italy together. They were seen holding hands while in Florence before going to the Galleria dell’Accademia museum and having lunch together at a nearby restaurant.

While in Italy, Gomez made their relationship on Instagram official by posting a since-deleted video of the “Starboy” singer in a riverboat and adding a heart-eyes emoji to the caption.

Additionally, The Weeknd posted videos of their weekend together on Instagram, one of which showed Gomez admiring a piece of art.

Selena Gomez claims that she and The Weeknd parted ways “as best friends” on November 30, 2017.

For the first time, Gomez opened up about the breakup, telling Billboard that she was “really proud” of the “remarkable” way her relationship with The Weeknd ended.

The fact that she and The Weeknd have such a genuine friendship is something she said to the publication. “We ended it as best friends, and it was genuinely about encouraging and caring [for each other], and that was pretty remarkable for me. I truly have never experienced anything like that in my life.”
